Ask about the parcel

What this is for: asking the one question about the parcel with no scan, with the tracking number already in the subject. Two messages are stuck in a dead spot right now — written is still written.

Hartwell Shop is a sample app by Awelior. Invented business, invented data, nothing is stored.

Where is the second parcel?

Sample data

Parcel 2 of 2, no scan for five days

Last recorded on 29 July at the sorting center. We may open a search after seven days without a scan, so from 5 August — until then the parcel counts as in transit.

Your orders

Tapping a row opens the order. Two tracking numbers on one order mean two parcels — the single most common reason people get in touch.

About this app

Hartwell Household does not exist, and neither does the parcel service mentioned. The orders, tracking numbers, names, addresses, deadlines and amounts on these screens are invented.

The demo stores nothing, sends nothing and fetches nothing. Buttons, input fields and dropdowns are fully labeled but have no effect.

Parcel status

Every step comes from the shop or the parcel service. If parcel 2 is still sitting here on 5 August, a search is due — the way to it is under “Help”.

Send it back before the deadline

Sample data

Three days left on B-4402

14 days from receipt, delivered on 23 July. Sending it off by 6 August is in time. After that we only take goods back as a gesture — and then the sender pays the postage.

What can go back

Each row says whether the period is running, has not started yet or is over. Only the first one is urgent.

Register a return

Registered means the label is ready as a PDF straight away. Send something back without one and you pay the postage yourself, then have to claim it back.

Item
Kettle, 1.7 l

Pre-filled with the item whose deadline runs out first.

Reason
Simply not for me

No reason is needed to cancel — it still helps us.

One piece was ordered.

Trying an item out is allowed. Only wear that reduces its value reduces the refund.

This form submits nothing.

Return label

Before you create it, who pays is on screen: within the period the shop covers the return. For a goodwill return after 6 August the sender pays, and $5.90 comes off the refund.

Reply on the next working day

With no signal, anything written stays on the device and goes out once there is a connection again. A search for parcel 2 can be raised from 5 August.

Hartwell Household

The tracking number travels with every message. That saves the reply asking which order this is about.

When something is missing

Four views a website never needs. With parcel tracking one of them matters most: the last known status stays on screen.

  • Loading

    Loading orders

The frame is there immediately and fills in once the answer arrives. An empty screen with a spinner looks as if nothing happened at all.

  • Nothing there

    No return registered

That is an answer too. The screen says so and offers the next step instead of staying blank.

  • Failed

    Tracking is not answering

The status comes from the parcel service, and it cannot be reached right now. The last known scan stays on screen with its date instead of vanishing.

  • No connection

    No connection

Orders and the label already created stay readable. Anything you write is kept on the device and sent once there is signal again.

Replaces hunting for the dispatch email in the inbox, the call asking “where is my second parcel?” and the handwritten slip with the return reason in the box. The shop saves the query, the customer the search.

Everything in this demo is laid out and none of it acts: buttons only report that they have no effect in the demo, checkboxes are fixed, input fields lead nowhere. Nothing is stored, sent or fetched.
