Painting and decorating

For decorating firms working between exterior repaints and interior schemes, whose work sells almost entirely on pictures.

The trigger

Why it usually gets rebuilt

Exterior jobs arrive by recommendation, interiors increasingly through images online — and both land on a site built years ago that nobody in the firm can edit any more.

Typical pages

  • Home
  • Interiors and decorative schemes
  • Exteriors and external wall insulation
  • Spraying and specialist finishes
  • Drylining and floor coverings
  • Before and after
  • The firm, the team and apprenticeships
  • Contact and site visits

Features

What actually makes the difference

Not every website needs everything. These are the points that genuinely count in this trade.

Before and after with a slider

Two frames from the same camera position with a handle to drag between them. No other format shows as quickly what a repaint does to a room.

Color consultation request

The client uploads a photo of the room and notes which way it faces and how the light falls. The firm can come back with two or three suggestions instead of leafing through a fan deck.

Indicative rates per square meter

For the common jobs — walls repainted, woodchip covered, render coated in silicone resin paint — a band is shown, with a note on what pushes it up: substrate, scaffold, number of coats.

The season, stated honestly

Exterior work needs temperatures above five degrees and a dry week. Saying when the exterior season opens and when it closes saves December inquiries that end in April disappointment.

References by building type

Period property with mouldings, new-build, communal stairwell, office. A managing agent is looking for something different from a private client — and otherwise will not find it.

Automation

What can run by itself

  1. Booking the site visit

An inquiry turns into three proposed dates the client confirms themselves. The confirmed slot moves into the right colleague's calendar.

  2. Quote follow-up

A short message two weeks after the quote. With private clients it often comes down to who gets back in touch once more without pushing.

  3. Review and photo release together

One email after completion with two questions: how was it, and may we show the pictures? Both in the same message saves the second reminder.

  4. Exterior season for past clients

In February a message goes to clients whose facade was last painted eight years ago or more. Those who plan in spring get a slot before the summer rush.

  5. Coordinating the scaffold

When an exterior job comes up, a short message chain lines up client, scaffolder and site supervisor around one date everyone has to confirm.

Integrations

Types of system typically connected — which product exactly is something we work out in the call.

  • Trade software for measurement and invoicing
  • Estimating software for schedules of work
  • Image library for project photography
  • Company calendar
  • Accounting

Budget

$4,950 – $9,350

Because the whole site rests on images, the larger effort often sits with the photography rather than the build — existing snaps from a phone on site rarely carry it. The range is a first assessment.
