Paid placement exists here, and it is labeled as such: pay $45 for fourteen days and your listing sits above the list carrying the words „paid placement". Three at most at any time, they count for nothing in the sorting, and they drop out of the header as soon as somebody sorts by price or distance. Without that label an advert becomes a recommendation, and that is precisely where a marketplace stops being honest.
