How Awelior would approach this project
Fairbridge Precision Engineering Inc. is invented — the way it is built is not. None of this is work delivered for a client. It is the shape we would give such a project — with the same depth, but without a client who would have to answer for it.
Where it starts
Fairbridge Precision Engineering Inc. inspects in production and documents on paper. Inspection plans live in a spreadsheet, the calibration list is taped to the metrology room door. As long as nothing is challenged that is enough; once a complaint arrives, somebody has to work backwards from the batch through the order to the measurement record — and that path does not exist in a binder.
Decisions
Traceability down to the batch as the ground plan
Inspection order, record, nonconformity and measuring equipment hang on the same chain. That is not one feature among many but the arrangement every other screen follows from.
A nonconformity is a case of its own
A rejection does not end with a red field in the record; it becomes a case with cause, action and effectiveness check. Without that a quality system is a collection of measurements.
Measuring equipment with calibration dates in the system
A caliper whose calibration has lapsed makes every record produced with it contestable. The list on the door knew that too — the record did not.
Deliberately left outNo connection to measuring machines and no statistical process control. Both are the next step and assume the inspection processes are cleanly in the system first — otherwise a control chart gets drawn from values whose origin nobody can evidence.
What is in it
- Screens
- 5
- Content blocks
- 19
- Languages
- 4
Five screens, in all four languages, with sidebar, header and stated role. Navigation works; tables, filters, board, calendar, step chains, history and single records are rendered and inert. Orders, batches and measurements are invented.
How it would go on
Instruments and data capture
Typing measurements in by hand is the most common source of error. Connecting the instruments saves errors rather than time.
Standards and audits
What an auditor wants to see shapes the structure: evidence trails, approvals, document control and the question of who may change what.
Connection to production
Inspection orders arise from production orders. Without that link somebody creates every inspection order by hand — and forgets exactly the ones that matter.
