Outer: canvas, 480 grams per square meter, from the remnants of a mill near Greenville, South Carolina — lengths that were too short for the order they were woven for. Lining: undyed cotton twill. Brass fittings, hemp webbing, polyester thread, because cotton thread does not survive the base seam.

We have 180 meters of this canvas. That makes forty bags and a few spare parts. When it is gone it is gone, and the next run will look different — which is not a regret, it is the whole point.

Sewing happens in the workshop in Asheville, by three people. The fittings come from a small foundry in Providence's jewelry district, the webbing from Poland, and we mix the wax ourselves. That is as far as our knowledge of the supply chain goes, and we claim nothing beyond it.

Zip, buckles and webbing can all be reordered singly. A parts list comes with every piece — with the dimensions, so the webbing can be sourced elsewhere if we are ever not around.

Orders close on 21 September, delivery from 3 November. Both are dates, not periods. If we cannot hold them we write before you have to ask — and if we are more than two weeks late you may cancel and get the deposit back.

The deposit is $86.70, that is 30 %, taken when you order. The balance of $202.30 falls due on the dispatch day, by direct debit or card, depending on what you chose.

The 30-day return window starts when the goods arrive, so on 3 November at the earliest. Before and after that an email is enough; the return form comes with the confirmation. We pay for the return — a decision, not an obligation.

With an embossed monogram the return falls away, because the bag is then made to your specification. The note sits on the add-on, in the cart and in the order summary. If you are unsure, order without it — embossing can follow, taking it back cannot.
